(NUMBER 6A)
In His farewell discourses, Jesus Christ repeatedly promised to send His Apostles the Holy Spirit, for example in John 15: 26: “But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me.” This promise was fulfilled on Pentecost when the Apostles and disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit (Acts 2: 1-4).
God acted directly in both of these fundamental events, and this symbolically prefigures the sacrament of Holy Sealing: He sealed Jesus with the Holy Spirit and testified that He was the Son of God. He sealed the Apostles–and the believers who had fellowship with them–with the Holy Spirit.
After the Pentecost sermon, when those who had come to believe in Christ asked him what they should do, Peter answered: “Repent, and let every one of you be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” (Acts 2: 38). This shows that Holy Baptism is a prerequisite for receiving the Holy Spirit.
The centurion Cornelius was an exception: here God gave the gift of the Holy Spirit directly to non-baptised souls in order to show Apostle Peter that salvation was now also accessible to the Gentiles. Therefore, in this special case, Holy Baptism was only administered after the dispensation of the Holy Spirit (Acts 10).

It happened this way: Simon Peter, Thomas (also known as Didymus Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples were together. “I’m going out to fish,” Simon Peter told them, and they said, “We’ll go with you.” So they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing. Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus. He called out to them, “Friends, haven’t you any fish?” “No,” they answered. He said, “Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.” When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish. Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It is the Lord!” As soon as Simon Peter heard him say, “It is the Lord,” he wrapped his outer garment around him (for he had taken it off) and jumped into the water. The other disciples followed in the boat, towing the net full of fish, for they were not far from shore, about a hundred yards. When they landed, they saw a fire of burning coals there with fish on it, and some bread. Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish you have just caught.” So Simon Peter climbed back into the boat and dragged the net ashore. It was full of large fish, but even with so many the net was not torn. Jesus said to them, “Come and have breakfast.” None of the disciples dared ask him, “Who are you?” They knew it was the Lord. Jesus came, took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish. This was now the third time Jesus appeared to his disciples after he was raised from the dead.

(5b)
(i) Selflessness and sacrifice: Disciples always put others first and in many ways put other’s needs before their own.

(ii) Humility and modesty : To be humble is to be a disciple of the Lord, because the Lord Himself was truly humble. He humbled Himself to everyone and yet He was God. Christ’s disciples are also modest, not just in appearance but also in the way that they act.

(iii) Dedicated to following Christ and the Commandments: A disciple is committed to the Lord and eager to follow His Word and act in ways that are pleasing to Him.

The lessons from this surah, Announce them all, whatever Allah has endowed to you, from merits, sustenance, goodness, and guidance”. Another tradition from the holy Prophet (S), as a general admonition, says:
“He who is endowed a blessing and it is not seen on him, is called an enemy of Allah and an opponent to His Bounties”.
We conclude this subject with a tradition from Hazrat Ali (as) who is reported to have said:
“Surely Allah, the Most Bountiful, likes bounties; and also likes to see the signs of His bounties on His servants.
